Wiley University has been awarded a grant in the amount of $50,000 from the Texas Methodist Foundation as part of the Foundation’s $920,000 Fall 2025 Grants Ministry initiative, which supports high-impact educational and community-serving organizations across Texas and New Mexico.
During its Fall 2025 grant cycle, the Texas Methodist Foundation recognized 68 organizations demonstrating measurable impact in education, leadership development, workforce preparation, and community transformation. Wiley University was selected for its continued work expanding access to higher education, strengthening workforce pipelines, and preparing students to contribute meaningfully to regional and statewide economic and social outcomes.
“Our grantees are serving their communities in ways that usher in the spirit of truly loving one’s neighbor,” said Wendolyn Abel, Vice President of Grants Ministry at the Texas Methodist Foundation. “Whether it’s a hot meal, a pathway to stability, a safe place for children to grow, or a vibrant worshiping community for deaf students, these ministries remind us that hope is abundant.”
Grant funding will support the continued growth of Wiley University’s Center for Workforce Development and the Future of Work, a new initiative designed to advance workforce readiness and prepare students and community members for the evolving demands of today’s economy. The Center serves as a hub connecting education, industry, and community partners to deliver workforce training, credentialing, and career pathways aligned with labor market needs.
Through the Center for Workforce Development and the Future of Work, Wiley University is strengthening the connection between academic preparation and real-world application, equipping students and community members with the skills, credentials, and leadership capacity necessary for long-term success. These efforts directly support broader goals of economic mobility, talent development, and sustained community resilience across East Texas and Louisiana.
