SGA Inauguration Fall 2024
Welcome to the Office of the Dean of Students

The Office of the Dean of Students supports and enhances the student experience at Wiley University by fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging campus environment. We oversee student conduct, leadership development, student life programming, and student organizations to help students thrive both in and out of the classroom. Whether you’re looking to get involved, grow as a leader, or need guidance navigating challenges, our office is here to support your success and well-being.

Become a Student Conduct Hearing Officer

The Office of the Dean of Students utilizes trained Student Conduct Hearing Officers to help facilitate fair and educational conduct hearings. These student leaders serve as representatives in most conduct cases, helping to uphold our community standards while ensuring students are heard and treated with respect.

If you’re a student with a minimum 2.5 GPA, in good disciplinary standing, and willing to complete training through our office, you may be eligible to serve as a Student Conduct Hearing Officer. This is a valuable opportunity to develop leadership, critical thinking, and conflict resolution skills, while making a meaningful impact on campus life.

Faculty & Staff Conduct Hearing Officers

Faculty and staff members play a key role in the student conduct process by serving as trained, impartial Hearing Officers. These individuals participate in student conduct hearings as members of the hearing committee, helping to uphold community standards while ensuring a fair and educational process.

Whenever possible, Faculty/Staff Hearing Officers are selected for cases in which they have no prior connection to the students involved. This helps maintain the integrity of the process and supports unbiased decision-making.

We understand that parents and guardians want to support their students, especially during challenging times. However, the student conduct process is a student-led educational process. In accordance with FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act), only the student involved will receive direct communication from the Dean of Students Office regarding their case.

Students are encouraged to take an active role in their conduct process. If they choose, they may include a parent or guardian in meetings or forward communications they receive from our office. We’re happy to answer general questions about the process, but specific case details can only be shared by the student or with their written permission.

We love when our students and organizations come together to build community and create meaningful experiences on campus. To request a building or space for your event, please click here to submit an Event Request Form to the Office of the Dean of Students. Once your form is submitted, a representative from our office will follow up with you regarding the next steps.
