Marshall, TX — Following continued communication and coordination with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, Wiley University announces that the campus lockdown issued earlier today will be lifted at 12:00 PM (noon), with a full return to normal campus operations on Friday, January 23, 2026.

Earlier today, the University temporarily suspended campus activities after receiving a threat via email. Out of an abundance of caution, Wiley University worked closely with the FBI and the Marshall Police Department to assess the situation and ensure the safety of the campus and surrounding community.

Following extensive review and guidance from law enforcement partners, officials have confirmed that it is appropriate to resume normal operations.

Wiley University thanks students, faculty, staff, families, media partners, and community members for their understanding and cooperation. The University encourages everyone to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to Public Safety.
