For Immediate Release
MARSHALL, Texas — Wiley University is thrilled to announce Dr. Jake Tayler Jacobs ‘14, will provide the remarks for the September 17, 2024 Chapel Program at 11:00 am in the Julius S. Scott, Sr. Chapel.
Dr. Jacobs is a distinguished 2014 Wiley University graduate whose achievements have garnered international acclaim. We invite students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends to gather for this dynamic presentation, “Leadership is the highest position,” for an occasion that promises to inspire and uplift our entire community.
Dr. Jacobs graduated with a B.S. in Physical Education and Health and has achieved remarkable success as an entrepreneur, author, and global leader. He has founded five multi-million-dollar companies, authored eight business books, and developed over 15,000 leaders across 22 countries. His accomplishments include being named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Black Chamber of Commerce and joining the Forbes Business Council. Jacobs exemplifies the spirit of excellence fostered by Wiley University and serves as a beacon of success for our alumni.
“Seeing Tayler Jacobs return to the Wiley University campus fills me with such joy,” said Kerl Nathaniel, Sr. Director of Alumni Relations & Strategic Partnerships Development at Institutional Advancement. “We’re so proud of the example he continues to set and the legacy he's building.”
During his time at Wiley, Jacobs was a standout student-athlete and leader, initiating the Financial Literacy Club and making significant contributions to the basketball program. “His hard work and passion helped elevate the basketball program, inspiring his teammates and leaving a lasting impression on the court,” Nathaniel added.
This event is more than just a return; it is a celebration of the extraordinary heights our alumni reach, driven by the education and values nurtured at Wiley University. Dr. Jacobs's visit is possible due to the efforts of the Office of Alumni Engagement and the newly formed Center for Financial Literacy and Wellness Center, funded by a grant from the T.D. Jakes Foundation and Wells Fargo Bank. “Opportunities to introduce the importance of financial literacy and wellness is the main purpose of the Center. It is wonderful to have our first speaker be an alum who has levered his interest in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and leadership to create opportunity!” - Dr. Jacqueline Brown, Executive Director for the Center for Financial Literacy and Wellness.
Please join us in the chapel on September 17th at 11:00 a.m. to hear Dr. Jacobs share his inspiring journey and remind us of the limitless potential within each member of the Wiley family.
