About the Program
The Criminal Justice program provides an interdisciplinary scientific study of victims, offenders and criminal justice professionals in the operation and administration of the American legal system. The program is designed to provide a beginning foundation to prepare students for employment and/or continued education.
Objectives
The objectives of the Criminal Justice program include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Graduates of the program will demonstrate an understanding in the field, communication skills, critical thinking, and technical competencies required in the workplace.
2. Graduates will be prepared to gain entry to a baccalaureate program.
3. Graduates will be employable in an entry‐level position in municipal, state, and county governments, federal law enforcement agencies, loss prevention and security fields
Future Job Opportunities
The Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice is a two‐year course of study designed to prepare students for entry‐level positions in municipal, state, county and federal law enforcement agencies, loss prevention and security fields. The curriculum focuses on the roles of policing, courts, law and corrections. After completion of the Associate of Arts degree program, students may elect to pursue the Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice.
