Morris Thomas, Ph.D., MBA, PMP, serves as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Professor of Higher Education Administration at Wiley University, providing strategic leadership for the institution's academic enterprise. He brings extensive expertise in digital learning innovation, quality assurance, and academic administration to advance Wiley University's bold academic vision.

Prior to joining Wiley University, Dr. Thomas served as inaugural Assistant Provost for Digital and Online Learning at Howard University. He also directed the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning and Assessment (CETLA). In addition to his administrative appointments, Dr. Thomas was a tenured professor in Howard University’s highly ranked School of Education and a lecturer in its prestigious School of Business. Dr. Thomas has secured competitive funding from the Gates Foundation, Echo360, and Lumen Learning. A Quality Matters Master Reviewer, current member and former Chair of the Quality Matters Academic Advisory Council (2023-2024), Dr. Thomas serves on editorial boards and advisory panels, namely the Changing Landscape of Online Education (CHLOE) Advisory Panel. The U.S. Department of State selected him to host an international delegation focused on digital learning excellence, reflecting his leadership in educational innovation. His innovative Project Management Essentials course achieved global recognition, ranking #1 among university courses in Class Central's Top 100 Most Popular Online Courses of 2024. As an internationally recognized scholar, Dr. Thomas has developed groundbreaking frameworks including the ENHANCE Learning Model and the WHOLE Experience Framework. His scholarship has garnered invitations as a keynote or featured speaker throughout North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Dr. Thomas educational portfolio showcases multidisciplinary expertise, with degrees in higher education administration (Ph.D., Morgan State University), business administration (Executive MBA, Howard University), educational policy and leadership (M.A., The Ohio State University), instructional technology management (M.S., LaSalle University), and music performance (M.M., New Jersey City University; B.A., Fisk University). His outstanding leadership and academic achievements were recognized with the Chief Executive Leadership Award at Howard University and the Directors’ Award for Exceptional Service to Quality Matters. He completed post-graduate studies in Project Management at Cornell University and Georgetown University and maintains the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
