WILEY UNIVERSITY SET FOR ANNUAL FOUNDERS CELEBRATION

MARSHALL, Texas - Wiley University will welcome Board of Trustees, alumni, friends, faculty and staff for its Founders Observance, set for March 14-17, 2024.

The University will be celebrating 151 years of continuous education as a Historically Black College and University and the institution’s historic return to its roots.  The theme for the 2024 celebration is “Standing on our Legacy: 151 years of Educational Commitment and Excellence,” which expresses gratitude and reverence for the trailblazers of Wiley University, who have been vital in making the institution what it is today. 

The festivities begin on Thursday, March 14, with the Marshall Area Wiley Club mixer in the Fred T. Long Student Union Ballroom at 7 p.m. for alumni and friends only. Registration for the Wiley University National Alumni Association will occur on Friday, March 15, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Julius S. Scott Sr. Chapel. The Founders Observance Convocation will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday inside the Julius S. Scott Sr. Chapel. To follow, the Purple and White Family Reunion will take place in the John D. Appleton Dining Hall of the Fred T. Long Student Union at noon. Wiley University National Alumni Association membership or a $10 fee is required for entry.

The Annual Founders Observance Scholarship Gala will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 16, in the Fred T. Long Student Union Ballroom. Individual tickets are $100 online or $125 at the door. For $900, individuals and groups can reserve a table.
