Wiley alumna and Marshall native Lillian Banks will serve as this year’s Grand Marshal in the homecoming parade on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 9:30 a.m. Ms. Banks is a charter life member of the Wiley College Alumni Association where she served as Corresponding Secretary.
She is also the past Financial Secretary of the Greater New York Inter-Alumni Council. Her dedication to serving others and her goal to “make the best better” is indicated by her many involvements and achievements.
Ms. Banks is the recipient of the Wiley College President’s Club Award, United Negro College Fund Appreciation Award, Wiley College Outstanding Alumnus Award (2014), Community Service and Stewardship Award sponsored by AARP and Wiley College (2014), National Alumni Council/UNCF Legacy Award (2015) and many others.
Lillian Banks is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and a member of the Marshall Rotary Club.
Line-up for the parade begins at 8 a.m. on University Ave. To sign up your group or organization to be in the parade, fill out the parade application. Students who would like to be in the parade should contact the Office of Student Affairs.
