Wiley College is pleased to announce the hiring of W. Anthony Neal, Ph. D., as Senior Vice President, Institutional Advancement.
Dr. Neal brings to Wiley a wealth of leadership, fundraising and development experience. Most recently, Dr. Neal served as Vice President of Institutional Advancement at LeMoyne-Owen College in Memphis, TN, where he led efforts to secure the largest endowed contribution in the institution’s history, $40 million. Dr. Neal was also instrumental in helping to increase alumni giving by 15% to $1.3 million and alumni participation to 24%..
Dr. Neal also served as Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Bennett College, Greensboro, NC (2009-2012), where he led the successful $30 million Campaign for Bennett, and Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Georgia Piedmont Technical College where he also served as the Executive Director of the Georgia Piedmont Technical College Foundation.
Dr. Neal also held leadership positions with the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) and the United Way. He has graduate degrees from Central Michigan University (MPA) and Jackson State University (Ph. D.) and his undergraduate degree in Economics from Denison University (Ohio). A native of Memphis, TN, Dr. Neal is married to Patricia Newman-Neal, a Howard University alumni, who is an associate editor with OTR Global.
