The Heman Sweatt Center for Social Good and Leadership has partnered with Build East Texas to host a large group of U.S. senate candidates on the Wiley College campus.
Candidates will meet with students, faculty, staff and the Marshall community on Thursday, Nov. 7 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Julius S. Scott, Sr. Chapel to discuss issues related to our community. The candidates will also express their visions for education, healthcare, infrastructure and economic development in East Texas.
Confirmed candidates include Senator Royce West, Mark Yancey, Chris Bell, Sema Hernandez, Cristina Zintzun Ramirez, Michael Cooper, Adrian Ocegueda, as well as Hank Gilbert, candidate for U.S. Representative, TX CD-1.
There is a “by invitation only” networking session at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel. Members of the press are encouraged to interview the political candidates and event organizers during the session.
