Pamela Fountain-Roberts has been named Director of Health Services at Wiley College.
Miss Roberts Has been a practicing nurse for over 20 years. She began her career in the medical field as a licensed vocational nurse in Texarkana, TX, at the Arkansas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Her role entailed a wide range of duties including but not limited to: administering prescribed medications, providing primary care or treatments such as taking temperatures or blood pressures, dressing wounds, treating bedsores, giving enemas, or performing catheterizations.
In 2007, Roberts moved to Longview, Texas, and joined the Community Healthcore team as a registered nurse, where she practiced until joining the Wiley family this past July.
Roberts describes herself as a self-motivated and goal-directed professional, adding that she has always known what career path she wanted to take.
“I love taking care of people. I took care of older people in our neighborhood around the ages of 14-15. My mother worked in the medical field and wanted to emulate her.”
Roberts expressed that her first month at Wiley has been “very busy” and says that she is diligently working to put strategic health and safety processes in place for when students are able to return to campus.
She adds that she is most looking forward to interacting with students when they return and is implementing health and wellness specific programming to serve as an educational resource.
Roberts holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Panola College and a Master of Science degree from Grand Canyon University.
Welcome to Wiley, Nurse Roberts!
