Dear Wiley College Employees:

Wiley College is currently observing the rise in reported COVID-19 Delta Variant cases. As a result of the levels of reported cases, the highly contagious nature of the virus, and to reduce safety risks for all members of our community, Wiley College will implement the following procedures:

  • Require employees to have the COVID-19 vaccination
  • Return to wearing mandatory face masks/coverings while on campus
  • Require students participating in Wiley College-sponsored co-curricular programs to have a COVID-19 vaccination
  • Persons utilizing Wiley College’s Transportation Services must have the COVID-19 vaccine and wear face masks/coverings in vehicles

Submitting your Required Vaccination Documentation

Beginning August 2nd, 2021, Wiley College employees will be required to participate in a mandatory vaccination process to ensure safety and prevent the spread of COVID-19 at Wiley College. Employees are required to submit their proof of having their COVID-19 vaccination through your secure ADP Portal by August 27, 2021. Faculty and staff may request a waiver for documented health and religious reasons by contacting the Office of Human Resources.

On-campus vaccination clinics are available:
July 28th, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Thirkield Parking Lot
July 29th, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Thirkield Parking Lot
Aug 3rd, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Pemberton Gymnasium
There will be additional on-campus vaccination clinics from August 18-24, 2021.

Upon submission of their vaccination documentation, all campus members will receive a label to be worn forward-facing on their College I.D. Badge. Campus members must wear their badges at all times.

Face masks/coverings, Random Testing, and Reporting
As we continue efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at Wiley College, all members and guests of the campus community will be required to wear face masks/covering (even if vaccinated) while on campus. Face masks and sanitizer are available at various stations and campus offices. Please wear your face masks/coverings to help reduce the spread and to set an example for students.

We will continue random testing through College Health Services and engage in self-symptom checking/reporting through the self-checker link. Employees are required to submit their results daily through the following link: https://www.wileyc.edu/self-checker/.

As we manage the return of our students to campus, all students are required to wear face masks/ coverings. During the first weeks of classes, students will have various opportunities to increase their vaccination rate.

College-sponsored Co-curricular Programs and Transportation policy

Data suggests that reducing group gatherings significantly impacts the spread of COVID-19. As a result, we will limit meetings and campus-wide gatherings. Faculty and staff should schedule meetings using virtual formats. Student gatherings should be planned for large spaces or outside where social distancing is required. Chapel Service will adhere to social distancing and face mask/coverings at all times.

We will also adopt a posture that will require students on athletic teams, debate teams, and the College choir to vaccinate to participate. The nature of these activities makes the likelihood of COVID-19 transmission very high. Therefore, the College requires these groups to vaccinate to participate.

All College-sponsored transportation will be reduced to a request-based model sponsored through our risk management team. Athletic teams, Debate Teams, and the College Choir will implement a vaccinated-only participant policy and face masks/coverings required travel policy.

The safety of all community members is a priority at Wiley College. The decision to require mandatory vaccination of employees is to protect ourselves and others. The COVID-19 Global Pandemic is not over, and not only is it still attacking vulnerable populations but there is no longer any age group or prior health status that is not experiencing impact. We cannot emphasize enough that the safety of our community matters. We invite you to protect yourself and others by fully complying with this protection measure.

Inspirata Procedunt,
