Spelman College professor, life coach and motivational speaker Dr. Ja’el the Great will lead a healing discussion at Wiley College at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10. 

Dr. Ja’el has been featured as a speaker for conferences, workshops and schools across the country, encouraging her audience to be better versions of themselves.  

“Today, my calling and joy is to love people into greatness,” said Dr. Ja’el. “We have all been created with a purpose and my aim is to assist people in becoming who they were born to be and remind them that they are “perfect for their purpose.”

Sponsored by the Department of Student Health, Counseling and Wellness, Wiley’s observance of World Mental Health Day will begin at 11 a.m. in the Julius S. Scott Sr. Chapel with a Campus and Community Call to Action. 

At 12:15 p.m. on Oct. 10, students will be encouraged to begin using the social media tag #ITriedANewThing to share daily mental health strategies that increase their overall health. 

Dr. Ja’el’s “Let’s Do the Work: Healing Conversations” keynote serves as the bookend for World Mental Health Day at Wiley.
