Human Resources strives to provide leadership and expertise on human resource issues, enabling our faculty and staff to perform to the highest standard by being knowledgeable and active participants in the policies and benefits of Wiley College. It is a goal of Human Resources to be a source of information, provide leadership and empower employees to effectively meet the objectives of the College’s mission.

At the time of hire, all employees are classified as either “exempt” or “nonexempt.”
Nonexempt employees are eligible for the overtime pay provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (also known as the FLSA or Wage and Hour Act) and will be paid one and one-half times their regular hourly rate for time worked in excess of forty (40) hours in one week. All nonexempt employees are to complete accurate daily reports showing all time actually worked through the ADP system. These records are used to calculate pay.
Non-exempt (hourly) employees who are required to work on the holidays listed below will be paid time-and-a-half for time worked from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on the holiday.
New Year’s Day
All required work on a holiday must have the prior approval of the supervisor, the Division Vice President and the President. To be eligible for holiday pay at time-and-a-half, the employee must work the last scheduled workday before the holiday and the first scheduled workday after the holiday unless excused with an approved leave. Holiday pay will not be considered in calculating the employee’s hourly pay rate for overtime purposes.
Exempt employees are administrators, supervisors, professional staff, technical staff officers, directors and others whose duties, responsibilities and salaries allow them to be “exempt” from the overtime pay provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and do not receive overtime pay. Employees are advised of their exemption classification at the time of hire, transfer or promotion.
All payroll information can be obtained through the ADP website. In addition, employees are able to change their direct deposit and W4 information through the ADP system.
