Wiley College is seeking qualified applicants for the Director of Development position. The Director of Development will develop and implement effective, comprehensive annual giving strategies that include, but are not limited to, identifying and cultivating personal solicitation efforts; stewarding annual gifts from alumni, employees, the College’s church constituencies, businesses and friends; expanding the base of benefactors and increasing membership in giving circles using telemarketing, e-solicitation, direct mail, and in-person solicitation.
The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred, along with five years of verifiably successful annual giving management experience in higher education. The director must have superior communication skills, both written and oral; and strong computer and analytical skills. This position requires a professional with experience as a project manager, a strongly developed ability to collaborate, and with seasoned fundraising acumen, a results-oriented individual who demonstrates the ability to work well with people at all levels of the College. The Director of Development should be able to make requests that are inclusive of all donor pools. Though the production of appeals is essential to this position, the successful director must be willing to cultivate donors face-to-face.
