The Associate Vice President for Athletics and Strategic Retention will prepare and administer intercollegiate athletic budget and provides fiscal overview for the athletic program; be responsible for supervising and assisting the entire coaching staff and other personnel with the athletic program while promoting athletic excellence; ensure that all events held in conjunction with the Athletic Department are in compliance with the College, RRAC and NAIA; establish and evaluate goals for the athletic program through the College’s institutional effectiveness program; submit written proposals, including expected income and expenses, for camps or other athletic activities; supervise all recruitment activities within the intercollegiate athletic. program to ensure compliance with conference and national rules; maintain effective relations with area high school coaches to ensure an efficient and effective recruiting network; dedicate attention to the retention of the institution’s diverse student body; develop and disseminates team schedules for all College sporting events; oversee the effective maintenance of all athletic facilities and equipment; ensure ongoing eligibility of athletes; coordinate all team travel adhering to prudent budgetary practices; and dedicate attention to the retention of a diverse student body.
The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management or a related field. A minimum of three years of experience in athletic event planning or related field. College coaching and/or playing experience is a plus. The candidate must have proven integrity, leadership skills, and the ability to motivate student athletes to be successful academically.
