About The Lee P. Brown Criminal Justice Institute at Wiley College

The Lee P. Brown Criminal Justice Institute is a recognized leader in scholarly research about criminal justice housed at a premiere academic institution the public service mission of which draws students from all over the United States and abroad. Each of our criminal-justice oriented majors is broadened by a curriculum rich in the liberal arts and taught by experts in their field. A wide range of academic disciplines is examined, and subjects integral to justice, security and the rule of law, explored. In addition to a top-tier education, we help our students plot their course from the theoretical world of academia to the practical job of changing the world.

Criminal Justice Program

The Criminal Justice Program (CJP) at Wiley College was founded in 1998 to help criminal justice professionals keep pace with the changing demands of their fields. The CJP approaches the field of criminal justice in its entirety – from public safety to human rights, media relations to public policy. At the core of our program is our faculty – scholars, practitioners and teachers who are committed to exploring complex issues surrounding crime, justice and public safety in a free society. By bringing together Wiley College’s distinguished and diverse academic community with working professionals, the CJP serves as a catalyst for new ideas and innovative practices that are helping academia, policy makers and practitioners serve the public now and in the future.
