KBWC is an acronym for “Keep Building Wiley College” and currently broadcasts a varied format of gospel, smooth jazz, R&B, rap, reggae, blues and oldies. The station can be heard anywhere in the United States by logging onto the Wiley College website: www.wileyc.edu. KBWC 91.1 FM operates under the management of Shannon Levingston along with a creative and enthusiastic team of Mass Communications students. KBWC is a major component of outreach for Wiley College, providing the community with non-commercial music programming and other special programming 24 hours a day. The mission of the radio station is to promote Wiley College, provide community outreach and serve as a training area for students majoring in Mass Communications with an interest in radio broadcasting and production. The Radio Station was voted the “Station With The Most Community Involvement” by the National Association of Black College Broadcasters in 2003 and voted the Station of the Year by the same organization in 2004.
