MARSHALL, TX — Wiley College will hold its annual summer reading program during the entire month of June on campus in the Thomas Winston Cole Sr. Library from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. every Wednesday. The dates for the Summer Reading Program are June 9, 16, 23 and 30, 2010, at 711 Wiley Avenue, Marshall, Texas. This year’s Summer Reading Program partners are Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Friends of the Wiley College Library, and Harrison County surrounding communities. Children aged 3-12 are welcome to participate in the program. The College encourages the community to join in on the quest for literacy in a fun and exciting way. There will be something adventurous for all the children to participate in and have a great time together with reading, games and other fun activities. “This year our theme is “The Tree of Knowledge”, which we believe is relevant to the basic reading skills of today’s society, said Library Director, Mrs. Alma Ravenell”. We look forward to our local students and students from surrounding communities to participate in “The Tree of Knowledge” Summer Reading Program.
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and The Thomas Winston Cole, Sr. Library staff will be reading to the children. Each reading event always ends with wonderful refreshments donated by the Friends of the Wiley College Library and the college library staff. Please plan to attend as many of the weekly Wednesday reading events as your schedule permits.
For more information, please contact the Thomas Winston Cole Sr. Library at 903-927-3270.
