Marshall, TX – Wiley College family, friends, alumni and supporters will converge on the Wiley campus to celebrate its 137th anniversary since the founding of the oldest accredited historically Black college west of the Mississippi River. The 137th Founders Observance will be held from March 13 through March 21 with special activities taking place on campus during the celebration.

In recognizing its strong ties with The United Methodist Church, the Founders Observance celebration will continue its tradition of opening the week’s festivities with worship services at Ebenezer United Methodist Church on Sunday, March 14th at 908 Whestone in Marshall. Highlights of the week of activities will include the 137th Founders Observance Convocation, the Leadership Prayer Breakfast, the Purple and White Reunion and the Annual Founders Observance Banquet featuring the dynamic Wiley College A Cappella Choir. As part of the celebration, Wiley will present in concert, “Lakeside” known for their funk band chart-topping singles “I Want to Hold Your Hand”, “It’s All the Way Live”, and “Fantastic Voyage”.
