MARSHALL, TEXAS—On January 23, Brittnie Morris, a native of Los Angeles, California, was crowned Miss Wiley College United Negro College Fund (UNCF) 2009 in a coronation on the Wiley College campus. The theme for the conference was L.E.A.D. – Learn, Empower, Advocate, Demonstrate. Actor and motivational speaker Hill Harper, author of Letters to a Young Brother and Letters to a Young Sister and star of CSI Miami, was among the guest speakers. In addition, Don Lemon, anchor of the weekend edition of CNN Newsroom, encouraged students to become ethical and moral leaders.

The Wiley College PAC is a student organization which serves to stimulate the interest and participation of its student body in the mission and activities of the College Fund/UNCF. Additionally students are given the opportunity to develop leadership skills and to build potential life-long friendships through their involvement in events sponsored by the NPAC.
