SECRETARY RICE INVITES WILEY COLLEGE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE INTERNSHIP FELLOWS PROGRAM
On Thursday, September 11, the Department of State launched the Internship Fellows Program with 12 college and university Presidents or their representatives in attendance.
Dr. Ernest J. Plata, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Wiley College, attended the launch of the Internship Fellows Program at the Harry S Truman Building, where he had lunch with State Department officials and was greeted by the Secretary of State, Dr. Condoleezza Rice.
The purpose of the Internship Fellows Program is to identify talented students from colleges and universities throughout the United States that have not traditionally been the focus of State Department recruitment efforts. The Fellowship will consist of a paid internship, either domestic or abroad, and will be awarded to applicants who exhibit a strong academic record, and who are interested in learning about a career in the State Department.
