    I-9 PROCEDURES

What is the purpose of Form I-9? Wiley College must document that each employee hired is authorized to work in the United States.

Who must complete an I-9? The U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services require a Form I-9 to be completed by all Wiley College employees who work and are paid wages. New employees hired for regular staff or faculty, student workers, and temporary employee positions must complete the I-9.

When must the I-9 be completed? The form must be completed at the beginning of employment. The Office of Human Resources is responsible for ensuring that the document is completed and obtaining copies of two forms of identification from the List of Acceptable Documents from the Form I-9 as required by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services of the Department of Homeland Security. All documents presented to the Office of Human Resources must be unexpired.
