Ryan Goodwin, Head Coach
Ryan Goodwin joined the Wiley Family as the head baseball coach in July 2013. Goodwin comes to Marshall, Texas, from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, where he coached a total of three seasons.
Goodwin brings winning credentials to his post at Wiley College. He has two conference baseball championships to his name at the community college level, having helped guide Northeastern Junior College and Neosho County Community College to championships within the last seven years. He was also highly successful in his stint as the coach and general manager of the Laramie Wyoming Colts summer collegiate baseball team, where he won two regular season and two postseason titles from 2007 - 2009.
Wiley College will not be Goodwin's first experience at a historically black college. Goodwin spent the 2011 season on the coaching staff at Jackson State University (JSU), a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA Division I) classification. During his time with the Tigers, Goodwin served as the pitching coach. Under his leadership, JSU lead the SWAC in team earned-run average.
Goodwin's tenure includes separate stints on the coaching staff at Washburn, as well as stops at Metro State (NCAA Division II) and Highland Community College. During his time in Laramie, he compiled a three-year coaching record of 95-50.
