Description:
The Thomas Winston Cole, Sr. Library seeks a creative, enthusiastic, and service-oriented librarian to coordinate and expand Cole Library’s reference, instructional services, and information literacy program. Working independently and flexibly in a team environment, the Reference and Instructional Services Librarian will lead the library instruction team; provide reference services at the information desk in assisting customers with research queries; provide individual and classroom instruction for faculty, students, and staff to demonstrate the use of library resources, online databases and the Internet; work with librarians and faculty to assess and evaluate the instructional services program; assist with the development of tutorials and online web based instruction to better support students off campus; prepare bibliographic and literacy instruction handouts, bibliographies, PowerPoint presentations and other promotional publications; and
provide traditional and virtual reference and research assistance.
Qualifications include ALA-accredited master’s degree in library or information science; two to three years of experience working in a library or in a customer service related field; excellent organizational skills, and knowledge of current trends in information literacy and academic librarianship.
