Wiley College has an immediate opening for a Director of Human Resources. The Director will oversee the administration of recruitment and employment, the benefits plan, performance management, compensation management, organizational staffing and professional development, compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws, and payroll. The Director will maintain all federal and state guidelines regarding personnel policies, hiring practices and separations; consult with legal counsel to ensure that employment policies comply with federal and state law; plan and manage an effective employee resource program which includes, administering and supervising the Collegeís personnel policies and procedures; recommend policies and procedures for effective College management; analyze and negotiate the terms of benefits contracts; and represent the College in all aspects of personnel or general liability related matters involving employees, faculty or visitors. The Director will pursue a continuing program of formal and informal education in the administration and management of higher education institutions as related to Human Resources, and to broaden concepts, philosophy and ability of college executives; and promote and support the Collegeís ongoing effort to utilize new technology as a means of streamlining all basic human resources functions, including records management, employment, and benefits management. The successful candidate must have an earned bachelorís degree minimally; juris doctorate preferred; at least five years of progressive experience in human resources management. Excellent written and oral skills. Strong human relations skills and computer literacy. Demonstrated team leadership and management skills. Evidence of strong service orientation in meeting the needs of both internal and external customers. Work experience in higher education or for the not-for-profit industry.
