Aliesha Carruthers — RRAC Player of the Week

Aliesha Carruthers earned a share of the Red River Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor for the dates of Dec. 31-Jan. 6. This is the 10th award of the season. Carruthers, a senior forward from Houston, led the Lady Wildcats to the top spot in the conference standings with a double-double performance in a showdown with Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas). She scored five points in a pivotal 10-3 run late in the game that gave Wiley the lead for good as they prevailed, 90-87. Carruthers finished the game with 25 points and 11 boards on 9-of-21 shooting from the field. Both teams entered Saturday's game with unbeaten conference records, and Wiley improved to 7-0 in conference play and 13-1 overall.
