Ellis Earns Wiley Player of the Week Award

Junior Jamey Ellis of New Orleans, Louisiana, was selected as Wiley Player of the Week for the dates of January 17-23. During the week Ellis led the Lady Wildcats in two slim single digit losses as she averaged 20 points per game and shot an amazing 54 percent from the field. Against Jarvis Christian College she scored 21 points, grabbed seven rebounds to go along with two steals, one block and one assist. Against Huston-Tillotson University, Ellis scored 19 points and grabbed five boards and dished out two assists in the 83-74 loss for Wiley. In both games Ellis was on fire from downtown, burying three shots from behind the arc. After a recent win over Our Lady of the Lake University, Wiley improves to 4-7 in conference play and 7-11 overall.
