Banks earns another Wiley Player of the Week Award

Senior Brittany Smith-Banks of Mesquite, Texas, was selected as the Wiley Player of the Week for the dates of January 3-9. Smith-Banks averaged 18.5 points per game in a 1-1 week for the Lady Wildcats last week as she currently leads the Red River Athletic Conference in scoring. In their loss to LSU-S, she was only one of two Wiley players to score in double figures with 18 points and added three steals. However, on Saturday Smith-Banks dropped 19 points and added nine rebounds as she helped the Lady Wildcats defeat the #2 team in the conference, Texas Wesleyan University, by the score of 83-66. She was on fire shooting 50 percent from the field and 100 percent from the three point line. She also shot an amazing 7-for-8 from the free throw line. The Lady Wildcats are now 6-8 overall and 3-4 in RRAC play as they look to continue their two game win streak versus Texas College on Saturday, January 15, in the most anticipated home game of the season for the Lady Wildcats!
