Lopez Earns Third Consecutive RRAC Award

Senior Jessica Lopez of Moca, Puerto Rico, was selected as the Red River Athletic Conference Player of the Week as well as Wiley Player of the Week for the dates of October 17-24. Lopez has been playing outstanding volleyball lately as she earned another RRAC award for the third straight week. Lopez powered the Lady Wildcats to a 1-1 week including a powerful showing versus NAIA fifth-ranked University of Texas at Brownsville. She racked up 12 kills in the loss to the Scorpions along with 17 digs. She added 14 kills in a sweep of Our Lady of the Lake. For the week, her 26 kills came on 51 attempts with eight errors for a hitting percentage of .353. Wiley is now 7-4 in the RRAC with a 15-8 mark on the season. Wiley travels to Texas College for more RRAC play on Tuesday, October 26 at 7:00 p.m.
