Wiley's Cleveland, TC's Miner Share Weekly Women's Basketball Honor

Ueronica Cleveland of Wiley College (Texas) and Christina Miner of Texas College earned a share of the Red River Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week award for the dates of Feb. 8-14. Cleveland, a freshman guard from Houston, established a new conference mark for three-pointers in a game with nine and finished with 20 in three games last week. In the record-setting game, she made 9-of-19 three-point attempts and scored 31 points as the Lady Wildcats defeated Huston-Tillotson University (Texas), 90-75. The newcomer continued her big week with 19 points in a one-point loss to Jarvis Christian College (Texas) and 21 to edge Bacone College (Okla.), 66-63. In the three games, she made 23-of-51 shots from the field including 20-of-45 from behind the three-point arc. Wiley is now 6-8 in conference play and 8-16 on the season.
