Dr. Julius S. Scott, Jr., ALUMNUS

Dr. Julius S. Scott, Jr., a 1945 graduate of Wiley College, served as President of Paine College (1975-1982 and 1988-1994). He served as interim President for the Medical College of Georgia, Albany State University and Philander Smith College. He returned to his alma mater in 1996, to become the fourteenth President and Chief Executive Officer of the institution. A native of Houston, Texas, Dr. Scott entered Wiley at age 15 and graduated with a degree in sociology and religion. He latter attended Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and earned a Ph.D. degree from Boston University. He holds 14 honorary degrees and distinguished alumni status from Boston University.
