Many companies match philanthropic gifts to educational institutions for their employees, retirees and family members. Matching gifts can double or even triple your gift to Wiley. To initiate a matching gift, see if your and /or your spouse's company will double or even triple your gift using the matching gift database or obtain the appropriate form from the personnel or human resources department at your and/or your spouse's employer, complete the form, and send it along with your donation. For more information and to find out if your and /or your spouse's employers have a matching gift program, contact the Gifts/Records Processing Manager at 903-927-3389 or by email.
Gifts in Memory of or in Honor of Individuals
Wiley College welcomes gifts made in memory of or in honor of alumnae/i, faculty or other individuals. Such gifts can be made to the Annual Fund for general support of the College's educational mission, or donors may direct their support to specific purposes depending on the amount of funding available and approval of the College. The procedures for making such gifts are similar to those for cash, check, credit card and securities as described above. Please be sure to identify the individual who is being honored with the gift.
The Development Office will mail a receipt to each donor making a memorial gift. In addition, a family member or other designated individual connected to the deceased will be informed about gifts made. The name and address of each donor will be provided. For a gift in honor of a living individual, the procedure is similar, except the honoree will receive the information. Questions about making a memorial gift, or making a gift in honor of someone, or creating a memorial fund, can be directed to I. Warren Sanders, Ph.D., at email@example.com, or by phone at (903) 927-3388/3387.
Ninety percent of Wiley students receive some form of financial aid. The College is dedicated to meeting students' financial needs so that no qualified student is denied a Wiley education due to lack of means. This institutional commitment presents one of the most pressing challenges to the College's finances. A gift of $100,000 or more supports a named endowed scholarship fund. Gifts of any size can be added to the College's general endowment fund for scholarship.
Unrestricted gifts to the general endowment are perhaps the most profound way to demonstrate abiding commitment to Wiley and secure the institution's financial future. Gifts of any size can be made toward the general endowment. Gifts of $100,000 or more can be directed to establish a named endowed fund.
