If this is your first visit or if you are returning to our
website, I welcome you warmly to Wiley College. This site is your guide
to the College, a 140-year-old accredited, faith-based Historically
Black College that is affiliated with both The United Methodist Church
and the United Negro College Fund.
This year marks the start of the College's 140th Anniversary
Observance and, as such, Wiley will be commemorating and renewing its
commitment to the legacy of excellence derived from our mission of
supporting students' intellectual, spiritual, moral, personal, and
leadership development. As such, this longstanding commitment to
academic excellence is reflected through an institutional ethos that is
experienced by students in a family-like environment; one in which each
student is expected and nurtured to succeed.
These are exciting times at Wiley College as we strive to fulfill
the dreams of our founders, transform the physical facilities and the
learning environment, and assure that students secure the promise of an
undergraduate education. These changes and aspirations are reflected
throughout the College via activities such as, the opening of a new
500-bed student living learning center, renovation of the Fred T. Long
Student Union Building to accommodate an ever-increasing student
enrollment, and the availability of a cadre of teaching scholars who
demonstrate genuine caring and concern for students in a technologically
advanced and rich learning environment.
As we strive to continue fulfilling our historic legacy of
providing the best education at an affordable cost and to set our sights
on the future, we are excited about the unlimited possibilities for
students, the College, and the community within the City of Marshall
where Wiley College is located. I hope that you will linger on our
website and/or consider visiting the campus, to get to know us better,
and to join us in this great adventure called Wiley College.
